So I got lazy last night and didn't do my twist out as expected. I got caught up in a major Project Runway DVR extravaganza! Just a side note...........Mondo should have won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I digress......so as I'm watching each contestant talk about how much it means to them to make it to Fashion Week, I slowly feel myself dreading the fact that I am supposed to be in my head getting my hair on and poppin'! After watching the horrible ending to PR and seeing Gretchen get picked (BOOOOOOOOO!!!!) I looked up and it was 2:15 am!!!!!!!!!!!! There was no way I was about to start twisting my hair. I slapped a satin bonnett on my head and called it a night (technically I called it a morning). Woke up this morning, co-washed with Herbal Essence Totally Twisted, put some Giovanni Direct Leave-In on my hair, oils and shea butter. Once that was applied, I put some Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel on my hair and pushed it back (with headbands) into my cute little afro puff! ;-) I have to say this was easy and cute!
As a child of the '70s when the Natural was in it's hey day, all I can say is YEAY!! Bring it back sister. You are lovely I am happy to have found your blog!
ReplyDeleteGidget, thank you so much! I am so feeling this fro! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteOK, so I am totally peeved that you just ruined Project Runway for me!!! NIKKI!!! lol Are you serious? Mondo didn't win...well its in my TiVo, and I still have to watch the collection. Ok, now back to the subject...hee hee. Although I am not natural, I am just as curious and vested as a natural chick because of Sanai. Product after product...let's just say, it feels like my hair. Honestly, I don't remember what my hair was like in its natural state, although I joined the creamy crack legions somewhere around age 11-12. I read blogs, watch videos and practically hunt down any living human with a fro to get information! Our hair is really unique, and I am discovering that there is no set formula for the Jesus-wool, as everyone has a particular curl pattern. Although I am not as brave, I am very interested in your journey...gimme all the tricks, berries and juices. I'm listening...
ReplyDeleteMyah, I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry!!!!!! I should have put up a warning! :-( Myah, it is so amazing how you have to find the right formula for your hair. It took me eight good months to find something that worked for me (I was transitioning at the time, so it was a little more challenging). I will be posting my current hair routine and specific products that I use. With your baby girl being a natural beauty, you will find, as I am sure you're aware, that any product that states "soft defined curls" will be in your shopping basket! LOL!! Just listen to her hair as you do yours and you will find what works for her. I will post my absolute favorites. BTW......LMAO @ "the Jesus wool"!!!Thanks for following! Mwah!
ReplyDeleteMondo sure should have won! Makes me not want to watch it next year.
ReplyDeleteLoving your suggestions!
CJ, I know!! Them picking Gretchen was just stupid!!!!! I hope the Giovanni agreed with your hair!
